El cáncer de lengua representa el 6% de los cánceres en general y el 30% de todos los cánceres de cabeza y cuello. Cuando el tumor crece produce dolores muy intensos, al punto de no poder tragar, ni deglutir, lo mismo que el habla. El sitio en que con mayor frecuencia se presenta es en los dos tercios anteriores, seguido por el borde lateral del tercio medio. Se reporta el caso de un paciente varón de 47 años que presenta cuadro de 6 meses de evolución con lesión nolular en borde lateral derecho de lengua, de 4cm de diámetro y se palpa adenopatías subdigástrica de 1cm. de diámetro y se le realiza biopsia, el informe patológico muestra CA. EPIDERMOIDE BIEN DIFERENCIADO INFILTRANTE, el paciente fue intervenido quirúrgicamente, se realiza glosectomía parcial, el informe patológico definitivo muestra un CA. Escamocelular metastásico a ganglio cervical.

 Carcinoma of tongue represents about 6% of general cancer and 30% of head and neck cancer. When the tumour grow to generate pain and the patient cannot  swallow and speak, that cancer is presented with frequency on the previous two thirdplaces of the tongue and lateral brink of middle third of the tongue. We present the case of  47 years old man with 6 month of evolution with nodule on lateral right  brink of the tongue, it has 4 cm of diameter and presents subdigastrica adenopathy, who has 1 cm of diameter. It was carried out a biopsy, theses pathological reports to show squamous well differentiate and penetrate Cancer of tongue . Patient  was surgeon of partial glossectomy. The final report was squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue with metastasis on ganglion cervical .
