El Liposarcoma retroperitoneal es un tumor frecuente, responsable de alrededor del 40% de los tumores retroperitoneales. Se originan a partir de células mesenquimáticas primitivas en lugar de células adiposas maduras.
Se presenta el caso de un paciente femenina de 56 años de edad, que acudió a la consulta externa del hospital de SOLCA, con dolor abdominal, al examen físico se palpa masa abdominal de gran tamaño, se realizó resección quirúrgica cuyo diagnóstico histopatológico fue Liposarcoma Retroperitoneal.
El manejo de esta patología es complejo y difícil de sistematizar motivo por el cual se sugiere el siguiente caso clínico, como aporte a la casuística nacional sobre el tema.

The retroperitoneal liposarcoma is a rare tumor. They represent 40% of retroperitoneal tumors. They arise from primitive mesenchymal cells in place of mature fat cells. The case of a female patient aged 56 is presented, who came to the outpatient area of SOLCA hospital with abdominal pain, on physical examination a large abdominal mass is discovered, surgical resection was performed whose histopathological diagnosis was Retroperitoneal Liposarcoma.

The management of this neoplasm is complex and difficult to systematize. Hereby, the following case is reported as a contribution to national casuistry on the subject.
