Introduction: Digestive endoscopy has have a quick development in last years with the apperance of magnifying and NBI (Narrow Band Filter Imaging), which provide a presumptive macroscopic diagnosis of bening and malign colon injuries, which are confirmed through histopathologic findings. Bellow we will describe our experience with this technique. Materials and methods: It is retrospective and descriptive study. All patients that attended to SOLCA branch of Quito during this term January-June 2007 that went through a full colonoscopy prior bowel preparation were included. We used an Olympus Evis Exera CV- H180 videoendoscope. Results: Out of a total of 743 endoscopy procedures, 179 had polyps, and out of them 29 were examined with CV-H180 Videoendoscopy, regarding Foveolar (NBI) type I: 2, type II: 5, type II/IIIs: 2, IIIs, II,III L: 8, IV: I. Histophatologic results correspond to: Hiperplassic adenoma: 8, tubular adenoma, 16, Hairy adenoma: 3, Tubular hairy adenoma: 2. The correlation was 97%. Conclusion: Advancements in endoscopy are rather great; we are using the latest techonology that prompts us knowing more on pathologies and learns about good use of early diagnostic instruments. Key word: Magnifying endoscopy, NBI, colon cancer colonic palyps. |
