Sesenta y cinco pacientes con cancer de colon de colon entraron en nuestro estudio retrospectivo desde 1990 hasta 1994. La edad en que predominó esta patología fue entre 61 y 70 años de edad y el sexo femenino resultó ser el mas afectado.

treinat y coinco casos procedian del area urbana (Guayaquil) , se encontraron 17 pacientes con antecedentes familiares de cancer. El principal motivo de consulta fue la pérdida de peso. El tipo histopatologico predominante es el adenicarcinoma bien diferenciado que correspondieron estdio B y C de Dukes (79%), sin embargo consideramos alta la cifra de 30 %  para los que presentaron estadio D, llamando tambien la atención la ausencia de pacvientes en el estadio A.

El colon  derecho resultó ser el mas afectado y la hemicolectomia derecha la cirugia que predonimó como tratamiento.

 Sixty five pacients with colon cancer entered in our retrospective study that dates from 1990 to 1994. The most prominent ages of this pathology was between 61 and 70 years of age, women were the most affected.

Thirty five cases were from the urban area (Guayaqui), 17 patients were found with family history of cancer . The principal motive of consultants was the lost of weight. The prominent histopathologyc  type  is adenocarcinoma well differenciated tgat  that corresponds to stages B and C of Dukes  (70%). We consider the rate of 30% very high for those who were in stage D, and  noticed the abscence of patients in stage A.

The right colon was the most afected and most priominent surgery as tratment, the right hemicolectomia.
