Actualmente las organizaciones de Salud tienen demandas sanitarias que están incrementándose, hecho vinculado a varios factores, compartidos en la actividad Neuroquirúrgica Oncológica. Los factores identificados entre otros serían:

1) Conciencia y conocimientos de temas en salud, algunos especializados, gracias al mejor acceso a proveedores de información (internet, revistas, etc). 2) Mayor esperanza de vida de población 3) Tecnología Médica provee mejores y eficientes tratamientos 4) Procedimientos diagnósticos de tecnología de punta que permiten precoz detección de lesiones algunos de ellos en fases subclínicas 5) Accesibilidad a Servicios de salud. Frente a este importante incremento en la demanda, los recursos quedarán aún más limitados y se deben optimizar éstos para conseguir eficacia, efectividad, eficiencia y equidad en los resultados de las acciones médicas emprendidas. En todos estos procesos interviene la Economía de la Salud. El presente trabajo dará un enfoque sanitario-económico de esta realidad que cada día toma fuerza en el quehacer médico.

At the present time all Health Organizations have increasing  health care demands, a fact is related to some factors which  area common in Oncologic  Neurosurgery. They can be : 1) Knowledge of subjects related to health , some of them specialized , due to better  source of infomation accesible with  technology 2) Increase life hope of the patients. 3) Medical  technology offers better and more efficient tratment  4) Diagnosis procedures  allow better resolution and detection of lesion  5)  Patients have better access to places to receive tratments. To face this increase in the demand of patients there are  limited resources, hece is  necessary to optimized action to get efficiency in the results. In all these processes act the Health Economics. This work will give an economy - health perpective of this  reality that is taking more strenght every day.
